Review of World Continence Week 2022

The 14th World Continence Week took place from the 20th to the 26th of June. Across the world, a variety of events have been held by national organizations to highlight several key topics. World Continence Week is an annual initiative jointly organized by the World Association of Incontinence Patients (WFIP) and the International Continence Society (ICS).

Review of World Continence Week 2022

The worldwide action week provides information about the treatment and therapy of incontinence. This will enable the affected person, relatives and medical staff to find out information on the various treatment options at national events. Especially for those affected, who often suffer badly from their condition, knowledge about concrete chances of recovery is the first step to improving their quality of life.

One goal of the World Continence Week is to act preventively, to create awareness, to carry out education and to provide advice. That there is a very large need for this is shown by the fact that in Germany alone, for example, about 10 million people are living with incontinence, demonstrating the widespread nature of the disease.
