GIRO D’ITALIA HANDBIKE 2023
Paralympic cycling and the TELEFLEX-branded pink jersey are returning for the 2023 edition with a series of stages that will see them travel across Italy from north to south.
“Giro d’Italia Handbike” is a competition aimed at Paralympic athletes that has held the distinction of being a unique international event for the past 13 years. From this year, the event is effectively becoming international, where athletes from other nations are allowed to participate and compete.
TELEFLEX supports these kinds of initiatives involving people with disabilities who find in sports a means to go beyond their difficulties by finding motivation and working toward new goals.
TELEFLEX has been supporting the “Giro d’Italia Handbike” since 2017; in the last 4 years in particular, it has been a sponsor of the coveted “maglia rosa” that is worn by the leader in the general classification.
The 2023 “Giro d’Italia Handbike” has as many as 8 stages that, as in previous years, passes through different regions and significant Italian cities from north to south Italy.
This year the tour will start from Merano in the province of Bolzano on March 26 and will end with the stage in Bari on October 15, 2023. In the 2022 edition, this city hosted a wonderful first stage of the Giro that was also very successful among the citizens who participated in the day with great interest.
In each stage, TELEFLEX will be present to award the winner of the “maglia rosa” at the end of the race, remaining side by side with the athletes to support them, talk to them and promote the use of the solutions offered by TELEFLEX in the urological field. This will also give TELEFLEX the opportunity to receive important feedback useful for its research and development.
