International Women’s Day is March 8, 2023 – Teleflex is celebrating!

Women’s Day was held for the first time more than 100 years ago. In its current form and with March 8th as the date for International Women’s Day, it has been celebrated by the United Nations since 1975. Teleflex Urology Care supports the goals of International Women’s Day and today celebrates all women, our female employees and female customers.

International Women's Day is March 8, 2023 - Teleflex is celebrating!

International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating women’s social, economic, cultural and political achievements.

Women have had to fight hard for many things in recent decades. Much has been achieved, much has improved, but unfortunately, there are many issues that are still unsatisfactory from a global perspective, such as violence against women, women’s rights in general and equality at all levels of society.

The United Nations has set a target for all Member States to achieve gender equality through the UN Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.

But there is also a need for optimisation in an economic sense, including fair and equal pay for men and women or rectifying the understaffing of women in top management at companies.

Teleflex actively supports diversity and the promotion of female employees in our company, not only by supporting their personal goals and careers but also by promoting a healthy balance between family and professional life.

In addition, in the run-up to International Women’s Day, Teleflex initiated a participatory action for employees to focus additional attention on the issues of equality and gender equality. All employees were called upon to take pictures of individuals or groups combined with the question “How will you embrace equity?”

The results of the action will be published on the Teleflex social media channels under the hashtags #TeleflexIWD, #EmbraceEquity and #IWD2023.

For female users of intermittent self-catheterisation, Teleflex Urology Care has developed the Liquick Pure, a discreet, hydrophilic disposable catheter that is adapted to the female urethra and supports active women in their mobility and independence.
