Paralympic cycling and the TELEFLEX “pink jersey” travel through Italy from south to north, promoting sport as a means of integration and independence. The Handbike tour “Giro d’Italia Handbike” is a competition for Paralympic athletes that was launched in 2009 and is a unique event on an international level.
In summer 2022, the department for children and youth sports in the DRS (German wheelchair sports association) will hold two wheelchair and mobility training courses for children and teenagers. The courses are conducted by specially trained teams of trainers, in which at least one trainer is a wheelchair user him- or herself. The parents of the participating children also take part in the training. Teleflex Medical GmbH in Germany has been supporting the DRS’s children and youth sports department as a partner for several years.
On April 8th to 10th the final/end-of-season 2021-22 “Freerider Ski Tour” event will take place in Madonna di Campiglio at the heart of Dolomites. A crowd of sit skiers will invade the ski slopes with their mono-skis to experience the mountains and have fun skiing. Teleflex s.r.l., Italy, has been sponsoring the Freerider Ski Tour since 2004.
After the 4th handbike trip in 2020 had to be cancelled due to Covid ¬– which was supposed to go to Carinthia in Austria – and we weren’t able to schedule a handbike trip in 2021 for the same reason, we hope that it will be possible to return to Kaltern in South Tyrol this year. German Teleflex Medical GmbH will be there again as a partner of the event.
The German company Teleflex Medical GmbH has been a partner of ASBH (Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Working Group) for many years, which launched its own podcast at the end of last year. At the beginning of February, wheelchair users from all over Europe will meet for the fifth time at a transnational monoski event. Teleflex supports this event as a partner, which takes place in Folgaria in the Alpe Cimbra ski resort. Once again, some places have been reserved for European mono-skiers.
