5. European monoski event for adults (10.-13. February 2022, Folgaria, Italy)
At the beginning of February, wheelchair users from all over Europe will meet for the fifth time at a transnational monoski event. Teleflex supports this event as a partner, which takes place in Folgaria in the Alpe Cimbra ski resort. Once again, some places have been reserved for European mono-skiers.
Since 2013, the Trentino region has been pushing the “Ski area 4 all” project, which aims to make tourism accessible to everyone, without barriers. Therefore, almost all of the lifts are accessible for monoskiers, the lift operators are familiar with the monoski equipment, and they can help if necessary. Additionally, many of the huts are now barrier-free. The ski area has many easy slopes offering ideal conditions for learning monoskiing. The association Freerider Sport Events takes care of the organisation and realisation of the event as well as the accompaniment of experienced ski instructors, who take care of the monoskiers individually, depending on their experience.
The cost of participation is 310 euros per person and includes half board in the Hotel MUU Village, ski school, ski pass, insurance, use of equipment, and pick up at the airport. Due to the limited availability of barrier-free rooms, 2 wheelchair users will be accommodated in a double room. The journey (by car or flight) is at your own expense.
